Research Interests

Mórna’s work asks: what is it to grieve in the digitally saturated contexts of today; do digital traces of our departed figure in modern grieving; and how is grief being represented in emergent digital spaces and services, e.g., in algorithmic environments, by grief coaches/influencers, grief apps/games and in the Digital Afterlife Industry?

Set against the commercial and surveillance capitalist backdrops of contemporary digital worlds, Mórna’s research broadly examines how grief is being conceptualised, constructed and commodified.
